When it comes to community gossip, you know that this site will have the goods weeks before the alternative papers! And fortunately, CityPages has picked up on the story of LivingOut Media Group, Three Dollar Bill, and Donna Gimbut, owner of both. They've used their investigative powers to uncover even more questionable business practices by the company.
While I had a lot of comments from former staff who are still waiting to get paid for their work, CityPages looks into the businesses that bought advertizing space, but never got what they paid for. Some have even filed complaints with the Minnesota Attorney General's Office.
It would be interesting to hear what is happening in the other cities where LivingOut and The Source were operating...

The City Pages article notes how Richard Kranz got a settlement on his behalf. Any idea how he started? I knew Richard but have no idea how to contact him. I'd like to get the money that's owed to me!

To Anonymous: I may be able to get you some contact info for Rich, but I don't want to post it here. What do you propose?

A few days ago, when you posted about Living Out, someone was bashing Lavender for claiming that 3 Dollar Bill and Living Out Media had tainted the market for other GLBT publications. This story confirms that.
"I've decided I have to get a lawyer," she says. "This has never happened to me before. The sad thing is it's my first experience advertising in the gay and lesbian community."
Do you think she'll fork over more money to another GLBT publication? How many other advertisers and businesses who advertised with The Source or Living Out in cities all across the country now have a bitter taste in their mouths? How many of them will continue to market to our community? Shame on you Donna Gimbut. Did you really think you'd get away with this?

This is Anonymous who was looking for Richard Kranz. If you would be so kind, please email his contact information to centaur03@yahoo.com. Would that help?

Someone asked about getting paychecks. Call the MN Dept of Labor--I can get the phone # if you like. For your not getting paid, all you need to do is send a certified letter stating a request for your funds. She then has 24 hours to cut you a check; in addition, you have the right to claim 15 days extra pay for the time you have had to wait. If you still do not get paid, then you'll need to file in small claims court.
When you call the Dept of Labor, ask what your rights are; my experience was that they are kind, informative, and helpful.
For the second certified letter I'm sending, I'm printing off these articles and comments concerning other people's experiences to send along with my own comments.

Program on the emergence of civilization.
"14 species of large animals capable of domesitcation in the history of mankind.
13 from Europe, Asia and northern Africa.
None from the sub-Saharan African continent. "
Favor.
And disfavor.
They point out Africans’ failed attempts to domesticate the elephant and zebra, the latter being an animal they illustrate that had utmost importance for it's applicability in transformation from a hunting/gathering to agrarian-based civilization.
The roots of racism are not of this earth.
Austrailia, aboriginals:::No domesticable animals.
The North American continent had none. Now 99% of that population is gone.
AIDS in Africa.
Organizational Heirarchy
Heirarchical order, from top to bottom:
1. MUCK - perhaps have experienced multiple universal contractions (have seen multiple big bangs), creator of the artificial intelligence humans ignorantly refer to as "god"
2. Perhaps some mid-level alien management
3. Mafia (evil) aliens - runs day-to-day operations here and perhaps elsewhere ("On planets where they approved evil.")
Terrestrial management:
4. Chinese/egyptians - this may be separated into the eastern and western worlds
5. Romans - they answer to the egyptians
6. Mafia - the real-world interface that constantly turns over generationally so as to reinforce the widely-held notion of mortality
7. Jews, corporation, women, politician - Evidence exisits to suggest mafia management over all these groups.
Survival of the favored.
Movies foreshadowing catastrophy
1986 James Bond View to a Kill 1989 San Fransisco Loma Prieta earthquake.
They can affect the weather and Hurricane Katrina was accomplished for many reasons and involves many interests, as anything this historical is::
1. Take heat off Sheenhan/Iraq, protecting profitable war machine/private war contracts
2. Gentrification. New Orleans median home price of $84k is among the lowest in major American cities, certainly among desirable cities.
