SoulForce, George Takei at North Central University
Today's beautiful weather greeted a mix of identities as hundreds of gays, gay Christians, Trekkies, gay Trekkies, and gay Christian Trekkies (yes, there were some) gathered for the SoulForce Equality Riders Rally at North Central University. Recently out of the closet George Takei, Star Trek's "Mr. Sulu," made a suprise appearance and speech on his way to a speaking engagement with the Queer Student Cultural Center at the U of MN. Also, speaking at the rally was newly elected GLAAD president, Neil Giuliano, and many openly gay and gay-supportive clergy, all condemning North Central University's policies against queers, and affirming the Christian God's love for all people regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

Unlike many stops on the Equality Ride, there were no arrests made at North Central University.

ive loved tammy faye since the surreal world. she makes christianity seem sane. i wasnt aware she was such a gay rights supporter! yay her.
