Bar Rumors Beta 1.0: Saloon, Eagle, Jetset
I often hear a lot of rumors, gossip, etc. about the LGBT bar scene in the Twin Cities. I never know what to do with much of it, but sometimes it's fun to hear what people have to say then try to pick out what is true. So, here is the debut of Bar Rumors Beta Version 1.0.
The Saloon has an elevated shower in which "erotic dancers," and on Sundays, regular bar folk can get in and strip down to the full monty. Seriously, all the clothes are gone and then they soap up in front of strangers. Well, that shower is currently closed, but rumor has it the bar will be adding at least one more shower to the mix. So, get ready for two showers with buck naked erotic dancers and bar patrons.
Many people may have eaten at the Saloon; they have really decent bar food and cheap brunch on Sundays. The kitchen cook that had worked there for a number of years passed away two weeks ago. He was a really, really nice guy, awfully good service and just plain genuine. He will be missed.
The Minneapolis Eagle/Bolt is undergoing a management change. General Manager Ryan is off to greener pastures as of this week and Manager Rob will be taking over. The Eagle has always had great management and friendly staff and that will be sure to continue with the recent changes.
Jetset is not closed! Several people have been floating that rumor around town. Any proof you need can be realized by stopping in for a martini and enjoying the laid-back ambiance.
Older news: The 19 Bar has expanded and now features extended seating on the weekends. The dive can get quite busy nowadays, and they've added about one third capacity on to what existed. Both the 19 Bar and the Eagle have added industrial strength heating to their smoking patios. Camp in St. Paul recently acquired some property next door and have expanded out to create a foyer and coat check area.

This is useful information. Keep this section going....Thanks, Andy!
One thing I'd like to know...when Innuendo first opened there were rumors of a companion bar to be called Rumors. What ever happened to that?
Hey Andy,
I do read the other more profound postings, but this is great information too! Nice breath of fresh air sometimes getting away from politics and gossiping about local bar scenes!
Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to look into the Innuendo-Rumors thing. I had forgotten about that. I'll try to make this a weekly thing!
