Friday Music Video: Grizzly Bear, The Knife

| | Comments (2)

Ed Droste is the openly gay front man for Brooklyn band, Grizzly Bear. The band is a third gay, and no one in the band appears to fit the 'bear-type.' They aren't coming to Minneapolis soon, but you can catch them opening for Radiohead and at Lollapalooza in Chicago in August. And for a flavor of what the band is like, the Carleton Singing Knights of Carleton College, Minn., put together an a cappella version of "Knife." Kinda neat.

I love Grizzly Bear. I've been listening to them quite a bit as of late. "Central and Remote", "Little Brother" and "On a neck, on a spit" is a good place to start. There not a band you that clicked for me on the first time through but they definately break through. Deconstructed folk rock and beach boy harmonies. how can you go wrong? Plus I love that gay doesn't equal dance.
