World AIDS Day Minnesota

| | Comments (0)

Today marks World AIDS Day, held on Dec. 1st each year to raise awareness about AIDS, the disease caused by HIV infection. In 2007, HIV killed 2 million people worldwide. The pandemic is the worst in recorded human history with more than 25 million people dead.

In Minnesota, dozens of events in every corner of the state aim to bring awareness, education and remembrance of those lost to HIV.

For the LGBT community, one of many communities in Minnesota affected, here are two events of interest. And after the jump, read about events covering virtually every community in just about every part of the state. You can also view events at the Minnesota Department of Health World AIDS Day calendar.
