Missing child

I left for lunch today to find 10 police cars and three network television vehicles blocking the rear of my work building.

Word on the street was that someone in the building across the street had a baby last night and put the child in the dumpster. Unfortunately, the child could not be found after searching every dumpster within a 3 block radius.

WCCO has the story, but not a lot of details. Police spokesman Ron Reier pretty much sums it up: "At this point I'm not aware that we even had a crime. We had a woman who had a baby. We just don't know where the baby is."

This neighborhood is crazy, and kind of sad. But exciting nonetheless.

It's a lovely day in the 'hood

I headed out to work today to find this:

And this:

The mother-fuckers didn't even have brains enough to check the doors, which I always leave unlocked to prevent the windows from getting busted when people steal out of my car. They also stole a CD player without a faceplate. I mean, what good is a CD player without a faceplate?

This comes only two weeks after some assclown slammed into the back of my car while parked in front of my house. The dipshit didn't even bother to let me know he ran into my car -- he just drove off.

And only a week before that, some douchebag stole my CDs. Fortunately, they were all burned CDs which probably put me out about $15.

I'm seriously getting pissed off. I don't know whether it's ghetto trash or suburban pricks that keep fuckin' with my shit, but I've had it.

I'd like to announce the creation of People Against the People that Steal And Damage Andy's Shit or PAPSADAS. I hope to have PAPSADAS incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit within the next few months. PAPSADAS staff and volunteers will be responsible for guarding my shit and tracking down the fuckers that steal and damage my shit and then break their legs. They will also have the responsibility of running to the liquor store on weekends and making trips to the gas station to get me cigarettes.

If you think you have what it takes to be a PAPSADAS, drop me a line.

The nice people at the corner who sell crack

Two guys are running around my 'hood with sawed off shotguns, robbing people. It really sucks to try and guess who that ones are in the neighborhood, because half the corners have groups of guys standing around - bus stop or not.

They're always really nice though, asking me how I am and if I would like to purchase some discount weed or rock. Although, I am slightly offended at they way they ask it. They'll say, "You straight?" I find this isn't the best place to be funny and correct them on their heteronormative language choices with a "Do I look straight, honey?," limp-wrist, and booty swish. (all very uncharacteristic for me in a street setting, mind you).

You see, "straight" has a double meaning in these circumstances as I am not 'straight' in the sexual sense, but I am 'straight' in the smoking a rock of crack cocaine sense (being that I do not need any crack today, thanks!), a situation I doubt many street corner salespeople or 'sawed off shotgun' robbery suspects would find amusing.

2:30am bitch

I was jolted awake by girl from across the street pounding on our front door early this morning. She and her boyfriend were having a disagreement and needed the lovely gay house across the way to call 911 for her.

But she didn't even wait for the cops. She took off with a friend, which makes me wonder if it was really necessary to wake up our whole house. Oh, and this is run of the mill for them. They are constantly fighting. Get couples therapy, people, and don't expect anyone to help out if you're not going to take the help you're given.

Weird

This story is wierd, but not unexpected.

Apparently, a male off-duty police officer got into a fight at Lucy's Saloon in St. Paul Saturday night, sending two women to the hospital.

The article missed the fact that Lucy's is a lesbian bar (a good thing, I hope). Hehe. I hope they beat the crap outta him.

Tragedy

This weekend, three students from my university died in a fire at their rental property, a rental property at a property management company I had already heard to much about.

Read the MPR story, then this.

I used to serve on my university's student legal board where this company would come up frequently. A quick Google search brought up these documents outlining brief but compelling evidence of the complaints against the landlord and the City of Minneapolis' decisions.

Here, Here,
Here, and here.

I am in no way insinuating that that this company is responsible for these deaths. For all I know it may be accidental. But here is a link from the Minnesota Daily which describes the 667 housing citations over the past 6 years.
